What Is a Goliath Bet Calculator?

A Goliath bet is a pretty popular form of betting in horse racing and football. It consists of eight selections and a combined total of 247 bets. The Goliath bet is also known as a full-cover bet. In this kind of bet, there are no single bets. There must be at least two winning selections for your Goliath bet to yield some return.

The 247 bets that a Goliath Bet consists of are expanded as follows:

  • 28 doubles;
  • 56 trebles;
  • 70 fourfold accumulators;
  • 56 fivefold accumulators;
  • 28 sixfold accumulators;
  • 8 sevenfold accumulators;
  • 1 eightfold accumulator.

Hence, to work out the winnings, a Goliath bet calculator is used. The Goliath bet increases your chances of winning big. If you get most of your selections right and they come out with a win, then your winnings might turn out to be huge. However, the one big disadvantage is that there are 247 bets and they need appropriately big investments as well. Therefore, if taking into account Rs 1 needed for each bet, you will need Rs 247 to invest. However, a profit you can make if you get all eight selections right will be massive as well.

How to Calculate a Goliath Bet?

The Goliath bet calculator needs the following values to calculate the profits (or losses) for the Goliath bet:

  • Bet Type;
  • Odds Format (Decimals or Fractions or American);
  • Rule 4 (Yes or No);
  • Dead Heat (Yes or No);
  • Each selection, its outcome and the odds.

The price of each selection and its odds will play a decisive role in the number of selections needed to go in your favour to make it a profitable Goliath bet. A win of at least two selections is needed for you to make some returns and for it to be profitable, the stake invested needs to be very high.

Let’s take an example to understand what profit one might earn with the number of selections. For instance, you bet Rs 1 on a Goliath which makes it a total stake of Rs 247. Now, each team, player, or horse is placed at Rs 4. The following table shows you the return and profit you will be able to make for each number of selections that turn out as a win.

Number of selections that won Returns (in Rs) Profit (in Rs)
0 0 -247
1 0 -247
2 16 -231
3 112 -135
4 608 361
5 3104 2857
6 15600 15353
7 78096 77849
8 390592 390345

Thus, as seen from the above table, it is clear that a minimal investment in the Goliath bet will need at least four of your selections to come out with a win if you want to gain a profit. If three of your selections win, then it’s almost a break even.
