Match Predictions and Betting Odds
Day two of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2021 kicks off with Jamaica Tallawahs squaring off against St Lucia Kings at the Warner Park in Basseterre, St Kitts.
Jamaica Tallawahs were the first team in the history of the CPL to record two title wins. They were the inaugural champions and won their second title in 2016. They are one of the most consistent sides in the CPL and have reached the top four in every season except 2019. Moreover, Jamaica Tallawahs are one of the only three CPL teams to have a win percentage in excess of 50% and their win-loss record currently stands at 43-41. Jamaica Tallawahs also have a slew of powerful all-rounders in their squad. Andre Russell leads that pack and has the likes of Carlos Braithwaite, Jason Mohammed and Chris Green for company. Fidel Edwards and Qais Ahmed will be the key bowlers.
St Lucia Kings, formerly known as St Lucia Zouks, have been one of the biggest underachievers in the history of the CPL. Their win percentage of 36% is the lowest among the current teams and they have won only 27 out of their 78 games in the CPL. Out of the first seven seasons, St Lucia Kings reached the top four just once (2016) and finished in the bottom two spots in six others seasons. However, they broke the jinx and reached the final in the 2020 edition. St Lucia Kings boast of a good all-round squad for this season. Faf du Plessis, Andre Fletcher and Tim David form a good batting core while Samit Patel, Rahkeem Cornwall, Roston Chase and Keemo Paul offer some effective all-round options. Wahab Riaz, Kesrick Williams, Obed McCoy and Alzarri Joseph form a solid fast bowling group.
Despite the balance of the St Lucia Kings squad, Jamaica Tallawahs are favourites when it comes to the betting odds. The latter have 1.81 as the winning odds, while St Lucia Kings are placed at 2.02 to win this game.

Jamaica Tallawahs are ahead on the head-to-head record against St Lucia Kings (formerly, St Lucia Zouks). They have won nine games, while St Lucia Kings have won just six.
