Steven Gerrard’s Rangers have their Champions League group qualification hopes hanging in the balance as they trail heading into their second leg against Malmo.
The Swedish side were good value for their win last week, but Steven Davis’s late strike has given the Gers hope of being able to reach the final qualification round of the Champions League.
Rangers (1) vs Malmo FF (2) Match Prediction
Rangers
Having gone a whole domestic season unbeaten last year, there are high hopes for Rangers once more under their talismanic manager Steven Gerrard.
They got their Scottish Premier League title defence off to the perfect start at the weekend with a thumping home victory over Livingston, but they were outplayed for large periods in Sweden.
Alan McGregor is a stalwart in goal for the Gers and he will need a big performance in this one, as will defenders Conor Goldson and Filip Helander.
Rangers are missing a few key men, but John Lundstram and Steven Davis will provide real industry and creativity in midfield for this one.
Ianis Hagi could well be given the nod here and he along with Ryan Kent and Joe Aribo will be tasked with providing the fire power to see Rangers over the line in this one.
Malmo FF
Malmo have long been one of the dominant forces in Swedish football and they will be doing all they can to progress to the Champions League group stages this year.
They were good value for their 2-1 win over Rangers last time out and they will once again have a game plan to nullify Rangers’ multiple attacking talents.
Johan Dahlin is an experienced head in between the sticks for Malmo, as are Lasse Nielsen and Niklas Moisander in front of him in central defence.
Søren Rieks opened the scoring in the first leg and is always a threat while Anders Christiansen is a talented ball carrier in midfield.
Young Serbian Veljko Birmančević also netted in the first leg and will be looking to impress again here at Ibrox.

Rangers vs Malmo FF – Match Prediction
Few would have anticipated Malmo FF to be such a difficult opponent for Rangers and their performance in the first leg caught many by surprise.
Steven Davis’s last minute goal in Sweden could prove to be a huge moment in the tie however, as Rangers now only need one goal to bring the tie back level.
Malmo will be defensively organised, but Rangers are a very tough side to play against at Ibrox and Steven Gerrard’s men should get the job done here.
Predicted Result: Rangers to win the match – $1.5.
Predicted Correct Score: Rangers 2 – 0 Malmo FF – $8.5
