Date: April 3rd, 2021

Venue: Olimpico di Torino, Turin.

One of the oldest rivalries in Italian football ignites once more as Torino host Juventus in the Turin Derby.

Juventus are seeing their hopes of yet another Serie A title slip away, as Inter Milan continue to set the pace whilst Torino are locked in a relegation battle and need points urgently.

Match Preview:

Torino

League Position: 17th (23 points from 27 games played)

Recent Form: L – W – L – L – W

Top Serie A Goal Scorer: Andrea Belotti – 11

Top Serie A Assists: Andrea Belotti – 5

In what is historically their biggest game of the season, the stakes could not be higher for Torino.

Sat just one place and one point above the relegation zone, Torino need to start picking up points more regularly to avoid be dragged into a real scrap.

Defensively they have struggled this year, with 50 league goals conceded in just 27 games and that is something they will need to address instantly.

Experienced goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu will need to be at his best if Torino are to get anything out of this one.

Armando Izzo will be looking to marshal the leaky defence whilst Venezuelan Tomás Rincón will add some defensive steel to the midfield.

Torino’s attacking prowess tends to centre round one man and once again Andrea Belotti will be tasked with putting the ball in the back of the net.

Juventus

League Position: 3rd (55 points from 27 games played)

Recent Form: L W WW – D

Top Serie A Goal Scorer: Cristiano Ronaldo – 23

Top Serie A Assists: Alvaro Morata – 8

Andrea Pirlo has endured a tough first season in charge of Juventus, who sit points 10 points behind in the title race.

Despite Inter’s dominance this term, third in the table is not where Juve would have expected to be with 11 games still to be played.

Wojciech Szczęsny remains the number one for Juventus, who do have the league’s meanest defence this season.

Matthijs de Ligt is a rock at the heart of the Juve defence whilst Alex Sandro provides creativity from a deep position.

The midfield is kept ticking over by Adrien Rabiot and Aaron Ramsey whilst Federico Chiesa will be on hand to provide the assists.

Cristiano Ronaldo is the main man for Juventus, and he will need to keep adding to his goal tally if his side are to make up the ground in Serie A title this term.

Torino vs Juventus – Match Prediction

With no love lost between these two sides, there is more than just the pride of Turin on the line at the Stadio Olimpico.

Torino are scrapping for their lives and are always dangerous in front of goal, but Juventus will be eager to get back to winning ways and should pick up all three points here.

Predicted Result: Juventus to win the match.

Predicted Correct Score: Torino 1 – 2 Juventus
