Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Mumbai Indians: October 8, IPL 2021 Prediction

October 8, 2021 7:30 pm
It may be the battle between two teams that are – at the time of writing – languishing at the bottom of the table, but one wouldn’t put it past Mumbai Indians to get two big wins on the trot to secure qualification by the barest of margins. On the other hand, it might be game over for Sunrisers Hyderabad, but they have already put a slight damper on Chennai Super Kings’ campaign and might end up ruining Mumbai’s outright.
The Sunrisers have had an abhorrent tournament, winning only two of their 12 matches so far. By the time they play against MI, they will have played against Royal Challengers Bangalore, and depending on the result of that match, will be in a reckless state or a positive high. Either mindset might turn out to be deadly for their opponents.
Just about every SRH player has had a poor tournament, but if Kane Williamson or Mohammad Nabi decides it’s a good day to die hard, they can make life miserable for any bowler. At the same time, Rashid Khan and Jason Holder are both extremely potent.
This half of the unfortunately divided IPL of this year hasn’t been kind to Mumbai Indians. They have only managed to win one match so far and will need to reach deep into their bag of tricks to win their two remaining games. Even that may not be enough, as two wins from KKR would see them outstrip the three teams chasing them.
Mumbai’s woes can be attributed at least partly to the failure of the very batsmen whom they rely on the most. Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav, and Quinton de Kock have all been struggling since the UAE leg began. Meanwhile, Hardik Pandya’s injury is rendering him unable to bowl and also evidently affecting his batting.
Match Predictions and Betting Odds
Winning against MI is going to be a steep ask of such a dilapidated iteration of SRH, so we’re going to go with MI for our match 55 prediction.
