Sussex vs Kent: May 13 County Championship 2021 Prediction

Match Predictions and Team Previews
In one of the two sixth-round games of Group 3, Sussex take on Kent at the County Ground in Hove. Both teams haven’t really been in the best of forms so far.
Sussex started this 2021 County Championship pretty well. They have won one, lost two and drawn one game. They played out a draw against Lancashire before they recorded an eight-wicket win over Glamorgan. However, after that, they suffered a couple of back-to-back losses as Yorkshire and Lancashire beat them. Only one player (Tom Haines) has an average in excess of 40 in the Sussex lineup. With the ball, they have heavily relied on Ollie Robinson and Jack Carson. Thus, Sussex need to step up their game all-round, especially with the bat if they are to turn things around.
On the other hand, Kent haven’t had the greatest of runs so far and have lost three out of their four games. They had a relatively high-scoring match against Northamptonshire before they lost three games on the bounce. In fact, all the three losses that Kent have suffered this season have been by huge margins. Yorkshire beat them by 200 runs while Lancashire recorded an innings victory before Glamorgan ran away with a 10-wicket win. The batting just hasn’t come to the party as no player has scored 300+ runs or averages in excess of 40 this season. With the ball, 45-year-old Darren Stevens is the leading wicket-taker with 13 wickets. Thus, either with the bat or ball, Kent haven’t stood up.
Sussex vs Kent Prediction
Kent may not be in the greatest of forms but they have a wonderful head-to-head record against Sussex. They have won their last five games against them. Moreover, with two successive losses from their last two games, Sussex aren’t in the best of forms either. Thus, it’s a tight call between these two sides. While Sussex will be out on the hunt to end the jinx, Kent will be in search of their first win of the season.
Summary
It’s been all Kent in the last few years. They have been absolutely dominant since 2016. Kent have won each of their last five matches against Sussex. Two of them have been innings victories while a couple of them were wins in excess of 100 runs.
